Dumfries and Galloway working with the Care Training Consortium

The Care Training Consortium delivers a wide selection of skills training to the health and social care sector and Beyond Limits Dumfries and Galloway was delighted to be involved in a collaborative project with them recently.

Beyond Limits Dumfries and Galloway was approached by the Care Training Consortium, they were working with Employability Scotland and were wanting to try out a pilot scheme getting people into employment who had expressed an interest in working in care sector. Unfortunately they faced quite significant barriers to this such as poor health, a lack of formal education, poverty, inadequate housing and crime or social and community issues. Two candidates were identified, unfortunately one dropped out early in the process but Beyond Limits Dumfries and Galloway worked with one young man who committed to the two days a week for four weeks.

The people we support were fully involved and gave their consent to this young man undertaking some shadow shifts. At the end of the process, the people we support gave some very positive feedback and the young man has gone on to secure some sessional work with another provider. The experience he had with Beyond Limits Dumfries and Galloway was invaluable, a fantastic opportunity for him and a great experience for the people we support to be able to offer something to someone else. Well done to everyone involved.

Listening to our staff in Dumfries and Galloway

Quality is the cornerstone of any business and we are always keen to receive feedback from everyone who is involved in using our services.

This time around we were keen to hear from our staff and in the spirit of openness and transparency we are happy to publish the results of our recent staff survey. Over the next few months we will be seeking feedback from those people who we directly support and we will look to share those results when we can.
