Beyond Limits Dumfries & Galloway supports people with learning disability, mental health issues and drug and alcohol issues to live an independent life that they choose. Beyond Limits D&G is a very person-centred organisation which means that the Supported Person is at the centre of everything we do.
You will be supporting Katy. Katy is a friendly, polite and sociable young lady who enjoys horse-riding, walking animals and days out. She needs your support to live a life that makes sense to her, to develop her independence, go places she enjoys and try out new activities. She loves to cook and bake and enters our regular bake-off competition with amazing results. Like most young females, Katy likes getting her hair and nails done, loves to eat out and go to the cinema and theatre and she is open to suggestions of new things to try although she knows her own mind and will say no if it’s not for her.
Like the rest of us, Katy can have an off-day. You will need to be patient but encouraging on these days and know that her good days will follow.
Katy doesn’t need any personal care as she does this independently, occasionally with a bit of prompting. You will get to know Katy and her family well and be welcomed into the household.
Katy has an established, friendly Team but needs an extra person to support her every Friday. Being able to be flexible is essential as you will be needed to cover your team mates when on annual leave, training or sick leave. There will also be the opportunity for more hours should you wish.
You don’t need any experience in the Care Sector as full induction training and continued support will be provided. We just ask that you are caring, friendly, motivated and dedicated.
A PVG (Protection of Vulnerable Groups) check will be requested in the event of the individual being offered a position with Beyond Limits Dumfries & Galloway, the cost of which will be to the employee, however, this will be returned after successful completion of a 6-months probation period.

A PVG Check will be requested in the event of the individual being offered a position with Beyond Limits Dumfries and Galloway, the cost of which will be paid by Beyond Limits, however, in the event of the worker leaving Beyond Limits Dumfries and Galloway within a 6 month period, they would be expected to reimburse the cost.
