Ten reasons to work for Beyond Limits

More about...

Beyond Limits D&G is growing and developing.  We will, however, always be a small Care Provider because we prefer to maintain our reputation of providing good quality support.  We are looking for Support Workers who have the right values, behaviours and a particular set of interpersonal skills to join our teams.  We feel that values based recruitment is more important than recruiting on the basis of specific qualifications or previous experience.

Who do we support?  We support people with, learning disabilities, mental health issues and drug and alcohol issues to lead an ordinary life that makes sense to them.  Good care isn’t just about services, it’s about having a life!

Incentives to working with Beyond Limits D&G:

  • You will be paid for all the hours spent on training, Team Meetings and Support & Supervision.
  • Career progression – with growing teams there will be the opportunity to progress to Team Leader and beyond.
  • With new Supported People, you will be in at the start, getting to know them and building your Team around the person.
  • Regular shifts with the same person.
  • No dashing from one “client” to another.
  • Staff welfare is high on our agenda, recognising that working in care can be emotionally demanding. We have an Employee Assistance Programme where you can access free 24/7 support for any health and wellbeing needs.
  • Critical Illness and Life Cover
  • Pension Scheme
  • Competitive wage
  • Supportive working environment.

So, what are the hours?

The post is initially for 22 hrs/week plus Bank Work covering annual leave, training and Staff sickness.  Additional hours and full-time opportunities WILL become available with the prospect of progressing your career within the Care Sector.

How would you spend your days?

Your day will always be varied.  You would provide independent living support which means you would be supporting Tim and David individually to live a full life in whatever way they choose.  You could be out for lunch, football, visiting places of interest or walks in the countryside, the possibilities are endless. You could also be supporting with household chores, help with budgeting, cooking, shopping, being involved in the community.  We are a very person-centred service, so we are very much led by the people we support.

We follow a strict Safe Recruitment Process and although initially a CV is great to give us a bit of background about you, if you are to progress with your application we would need you to complete one of our application forms which we can provide when needed.  If successful after the interview stage you would meet the person/people you would be supporting who have the final say on whether or not they want you on their team.

Pre-employment checks will be carried out including Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) check, references and Right to Work check if offered a position.  A 6-month probationary period would follow. during which time you will be provided with a robust induction training programme, support and shadow shifts to ensure that you are confident to go it alone.

Ideally you will:

  • Self-motivated
  • Committed to providing excellent support
  • Flexible
  • Be able to think out of the box
  • Have good organisational skills
  • Have good communication skills
  • Be kind with a good level of patience
  • Have a caring nature
